What is the best black to paint my 78 anniversary edition corvette ?
Not meaning to be a smart @ss,,,,but what do you mean by 'BEST BLACK PAINT'????
The reason I am asking is that professional painters often times can find a paint that they are comfortable using....much like myself. SO...'we' can become rather opinionated. I know I LOVE what I have been using for almost 25 years if not longer....and I have shot many other types of paint. I have mastered what I shoot so it is almost second nature and I fear nothing when I paint. I have dealt with problems...at one time or another....and know how to address them if any arise.
I know it is not the same but it makes a point...you know how you can use an ink pen that allows you to write so effortlessly and it glides across the paper...but yet another pen you try to use is hard to write with???? But the pen you do not like works well for your friend next to you who loves it. It is 'kinda' like that.
It also depends if you are planning on going with basecoat/clearcoat or a single stage paint.
And remember this...The BEST paint means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING if the body work and prep is crap.
I use NEXA...which is often times sold where PPG is sold.
Axalta (use to be DuPont) and PPG are the two big brands used by all the OEM's. Both very high quality. There are many automotive paints on the market, but these are the two main players. Use either one and you will be just fine.
