I purchased a new master cylinder yesterday - new as opposed to rebuilt. Just above each port there are what look like bleeding valves. Could someone enlighten me on what these are for? If I was to guess, I'd say to run a tube back into the master for bench bleeding. Would this mean you could install the master into the car right out of the box and then bench bleed it in the car? Might be a little tidier.

GM should have made all the MC's with the bleeder screws as in your replacement. These bleeder screws MC's were factory original on some Corvettes..don't remember what year/time frame. Notionally speaking, I'd guess that about 90% of the Corvettes made didn't have these bleeder screws. You're lucky to have them. You can bleed the MC in the car, as compared to bench bleeding.
