I need some help deciding if this vehicle is a good purchase for the money. http://myclassicgarage.com/marketpla...Corvette/94184
I can purchase this vehicle for 6800$ right now and it seems like a no brainier however I'm worried about few things.
Original color was red not baige as it is now(carfax has conflicting colors on report) the mileage of the vehicle has been the same for last 9 years (or close to same within a 1000 miles).
Any help is very appreciated.
Perhaps the link now goes to different car... link shows a 1982 collectors edition with 33k miles sold at $15k.
Opinion... the linked car is priced right and would a wonderful vette to own (only C3 with an opening hatch no less)

I'm a rookie. That's a well written sales pitch about the car. Not completely factual, but well-written. I've learned from this Forum that any dealer should know how to decipher the VIN and data plates so they can provide correct information.
Maybe they posted the wrong photo
As for the price....$6800 might be great......BUT...it could also cost another $6800 to correct all the hidden problems.
You really need a friend who is knowledgeable about Corvettes to physically examine the car.
Sorry I should have been more specific.
The mileage on the car currently is 34788 and it is the car from the ad. ( I verified vin number) it looks like a previous owner purchased it from the place in the ad.
Hi ss,
Doesn't the price seem like TOO good a deal.
When that's so there's often a very good, but not immediately obvious, reason.
So caution, more caution, and lots of homework seems to be in order.
Regards,
Alan
