So I finally got around to replacing the power antenna cable the other day. And while I was under the car I noticed what may have been a little brake fluid on the inside of the right rear tire. Nothing wet just a slight film. Anyway I fired up the car, the pedal felt "fine" took it for a ride and determined the pedal wasn't as high as I remembered in the fall. So pulled the fire tonight an low and behold, it's not a really noticeable leak but surely the caliper is leaking from the Pistons. This was a reman from NAPA just six months ago. Is this normal with these calipers?
Lip seals are fine if you drive the car all the time. They are so thin that if you let the car sit for a few months the weight of the piston deforms the seal and a leak can occur. I converted to O-ring seals ~5 years ago and have not had any problems with brakes since then.
