I built a new 350 for my '71 convertible and had it ready to go in months ago. I've had the car off the road for a few years, while installing new carpet, Vintage Air, Borgeson power steering and pulling the original engine. Yesterday when I got home from work. I said "screw it, let's get this thing in the car". I grabbed my 16 year old son and 11 year old daughter, removed the hood and got to work. Two hours later, after struggling a bit with the engine mounts, it was in place. It's a nice hurdle to have out of the way but there's still a lot more to do.

I primed the oil pump, ran out to get some 92 octane before my daughter's school picnic, installed the battery and it started right up. I advanced the timing a bit, tightened one of the fuel lines and some of the exhaust bolts. I had the timing at 15°, and backed it off to 12°, so I wasn't too far off the mark. Now I will get to fine tune it (including using the Lars timing procedure, of course), get the hood back on, change the oil, get the front aligned (because Borgeson) and the a/c charged. It should be back on the road soon.
