I need help on how to get the forward clips to clip on under the windshield. I already removed the windshield molding, and the dash is in place but I can't get all the clips on. I have the instrument cluster and center gauge cluster installed.
When I did mine over the winter I installed the upper pad first then the lt cluster, rt pad , then center section. It was the only way I could see that I got all the clips attached

That's exactly the way I put my 77 together too. Much easier to ensure that all the clips are correct.
I just did mine on my 77 a few months ago. If you bought a new dash from CA, sometimes you need to pry the clips ever so slightly wider to help them get on. I did it with two people. I used a flat blade on the underside to get the clips to go over (under) the edge of the frame. Started on the driver side and just worked our way across one clip at a time, being careful not to pull back too much and unclip the ones we had already done.
Not all C3's are identical. Some finagling may be needed.

Having the center gauge cluster and the map pocket out is a must. On a 1977..it can be really easy to break your center gauge bezel. If you do not take the center gauge cluster completely out...it needs to be released from the shift console and tilted back a little bit.
