Hello new to the forum with a question. Looking to purchase a 1976 L82 and don't know what a fair offer on it would be. Below is the information I have on the car

1976 Corvette Stingray L82
I have over $5000.00 worth of receipts and documentation from improvements to the vehicle and I know the car inside out, so you can be confident that you will know everything about this car that I know when you purchase it.
Some highlights and improvements
- Custom paint job -- I took the car all the way down to clear coat and resurfaced it before painting it
- New Tires (less than 100 miles on them currently)
- Chrome Side Pipes with Spiral Turbo Baffle installed
- New seat covers
- New Battery
- Performance carburetor
- New belts, gaskets, plugs, wires, distributor cap
- New weather stripping & rain diversion
- New aluminum radiator & radiator support
- New rear spring kit
- T-Tops
- Automatic Transmission
- Ready to drive and inspected!

What is he asking for it? Is it fair to say by the description that he's expecting above market because of the "improvements?"

where about do you live?
Market is strongly area dependent...
If this car had been up for sale in my area (Alberta, Canada) when I was looking around, it would have been a no brainer at this price... Unless the inspection came back with something unsuspected.

If the important stuff is in good condition I think his asking price is reasonable. How many miles are on the car?

Define "fair"? What do you think it's worth? Make an offer. Seller could accept or might make you a counter offer.

I was thinking 7,500 but don't know if that is realistic or not he said the door panels still need work and air conditioning is out of the car

Offer $7,500 and see what he says. Are you sure there are no hidden rust issues?

Would you go lower then 7,500, of what he said there is no rust on the car. I don't want to insult with a low offer but I want to have room to negotiate also

Hmmmm, my tea leaves say 9 to 10, however very area dependent and assuming no big rust issues, just sold one like this for 9800, mostly all original, 4sp, great shape and a very long list of things taken care of. Hope this helps and having said that I am all in for horse trading, Good luck.
