To start my '72 I have to push the clutch pedal all the way to the firewall before the starter engages... is there a way to adjust this switch so that I don't have to push the pedal so far down? I'm concerned that some day I won't be able to start the car because of the pedal bottoming out before the switch engages.

There is no adjustment. The switch mounts w/ a screw and a slot into the pedal bracket. The rod has no adjustment as well and held in place w/ a very small clip.
Theoretically-with no adjustment - it shouldn't get out of adjustment!
Hi G,
I think that Richard is right.
Unless the rod were to be bent, or there would be new carpet and padding, or a thicker floor mat installed, the clutch arm will always reach the point needed to trip the switch.

Alan
Hi G,
The clutch arm actually wore a small nickel sized hole completely through the rubber mat and original carpet in my car because of 'bottoming out' each time I depressed the clutch to start the engine.

Alan
you could sell it and buy a '68.
Then you wouldn't have to ever worry about it
Just remember to push in the clutch or your going through the
garage wall
