that's why I bought a classic too.
My wife said why not get a newer 1?
I drove a couple C-4's and they just didn't do it for me.
I was at the YMCA the other day and a house wife yells nice car!
Clearly, she didn't know what it was but she liked it.
I find the public doesn't really know what they are looking at
but Zora sure got it right.
Timeless look and longest running line for a production car.
I don't care if the prices are soft now, actually better for the buyer,
no firebird, camaro, chevelle feels like a vette when you grab 2nd
and she squats down.

A muscle car?
A sports car?
No, a dream car.
been only 20 years, and so forced into a crappy paint job, that still gets compliments lets just say it has 'patina' and leave it alone.....

There is NOTHING stock about my car, not nuttin, from wheels through roof, nuttin......

No sense blowing it up just yet.
Sometimes a man has to know his daily limitations and walk away.
There's been more than once I almost let a wrench fly followed by a
four letter word.
Like last week when I damaged a drivers side rocker moulding.
Expensive evening. My son heard the old four letter universal
word all the way upstairs in his room.
You step back and tell yourself, how much is this gonna cost me.
These cars will put a weaker man in the hospital.
But as shared in above posts, the compliments outway the skinned
knuckles.
Now I need a 250.00 part

I ended up giving a fake number and bolted asap. It was a tough position to be in. Out of gas and half a mile out while fighting for this guy to go away. After I got home, it made me laugh and kind of proud to know that a FORD guy was wanting to trade me two '68's for my one '72. Who do you think was crazy? Me for not taking the deal, or him for offering up two '68 Mustang Fastbacks? Each one was easily worth $25K each. They didn't look bad, and the guy was really serious, seemed pretty legit. But I think I made the right call.

He didnt give you a lift to the pumps?
The price of old stangs camaros firebirds etc is climbing faster than c3's and in many cases more if you love your c3 and it's worth 50K or more to you and you plan to keep it then you did right if you are fixing to flip your car well then I hope it fetches 50K plus.

He didn't offer cash if I remember right, just even trade. This was about 3-4 years ago. At first he was offering just the first one, but then as I had someone bring me some gas, and he saw that I wasn't biting and suspected I was about to leave, he tossed in the other Mustang. It really wasn't a bad deal, but I was in a hurry, and I don't think that I would have kept them if I had made the deal. I would have ended up toying with them for 6 months, realizing I should have kept Orange Crush and end up selling both of them to try and get my car back. I just said no and left at that.
I had one car I love dearly, and would have traded for two that I wouldn't car much for. So that was my logic behind saying no. I know what the Mustangs are worth and I knew what parts it needed and how much that would have been. So yeah, I walked.

Not the actual cars, but general condition.

Like the cars were slightly rough in areas and were just your run of the mill "c code" cars. Nothing special. Sweaty 302's with C4's. Not really rusty from what I could see. Good start on a restoration for one and a customization for the other.

I also got the idea you say the cars were 25K each, 50K
In my case if that happened I really wouldn't be too concerned with what the swap was "IF" like in your case the value of it was 50K ...I do not know about your c3 but I could do several of mine for 50K.
I would flip the swap for the cash and then just build another c3 skipping the mistakes made with this one and have a car for around 12-15 k ( I build cheap ) and a big old deposit to the bank account...cha ching.
But like with the c7 swap if I had to keep the swap and drive it then nope...I would keep my c3
Every since I was a kid, I always wanted a C-3. I almost bought one when I got out of the service and regretted it. Life got in the way for a few years and I managed to pick one up about six years ago. The wife has regretted it, but I still love it. The mustang trade would of been cool if you were more into Mustangs. But you are more into the Vette which we can all appreciate.
I like my women and my cars kind of the same, loud and dirty! Except my Vette, its spotless!

While I have never bought a car caring what the value would be when/if I sold it I have never once sold a car that didnt make some profits, some little but profit, but like I said it wouldnt matter what make or model if some cat offered me 50K in "items" for my c3 it would be a lovely day for many reasons....
I used to occasionally have someone ask if I wanted to sell a Chevelle I used to have, but the offers were usually a lot less than just what I had into the engine in it, so I usually told them to ____ off...
