Default Wiper actuator question..

Would anyone know which wiper actuator I would need for a '68? (Oct.'67 build/VIN ...05461). I'm guessing 1/4 inch (early), but the 5/16 (late/early '69) looks closer to the orig.

With your build date the car would have originally come with the 1/4 inch diameter shaft.

The only thing different between the actuators is the shaft diameter, everything else looks the same.

The 1/4" inch shafts snap off eventually. That is why they made the change to 5/16".
There is a lot of pressure on that poor little 1/4' shaft to move the wiper door. Lou.

Good to know Lou; guess I'll have to be careful. I was hoping it'd be a simple swap.

I just wanted to add, for people reading this post, that vendors did sell an adapter nut to allow you to use a 5/16" actuator on the 68 1/4" wiper mechanism. I would do that, it is covered up by the rubber tube anyway. The 5/16" actuator was cheaper to buy in the past. Don't know about now. Lou.
