Default 72 front side marker light assy loose

Is there a direct or simple way to get to the side marker on the front of a 72? The orange lens moves in and out on the right side of the assy as you look at it. I don't see any screws, does that ***'y fit by pressure fit, or does it need to be taken out by the back side? I've had a few C3's before, but never had any problem with the side markers. Thanks

Here's what I'm looking at. I pulled it off. It was held on by a string of rubbery glue-like material on one side only. Is that the way it should be? I don't see any clips or screws or any other way for the lens to be attached. Any help appreciated.

Hi 65,
Then lens was originally held in place on the body of the side marker by a sealer… probably what you're seeing.
I'd think you could use some RTV to bond the lens back in place.
The body of the marker is held in place in the fender pocket by two studs with speed nuts accessed from the back side. Easy to get to by reaching up through the opening in the bottom of the valance. Open the headlights first to give a little more room.
Regards,
Alan

Thank you. So if I RTV it, and the bulb goes out, I just force it back out again? Was that the way to change the original bulb, just force the lens off, or were you supposed to change the whole assy? Thanks again, I appreciate the response.

Doesn't the bulb and bulb holder just turn a quarter turn and come off the back?

I'm not sure, I couldn't figure a way to get my hand in to it. I did RTV the lens back on. Seems fine.

Hi gg,
No,
The access for the bulb is from the rear of the housing.
It takes a quarter turn of the socket and the socket/bulb come out of the housing.
Regards,
Alan

This happens to be the rear side marker but the configuration is similar to there front side marker.

Thanks, I understand now. If you raise the headlights and reach through the air intake hole below the grill, you can access the socket.
