Default Need some help. 73 auto, shifter adjustment for dummies

I have a 73 454 auto. Need some help with, I think, shifter adjustment. There are no back up lights when shifted into reverse. They do come on in neutral and drive. The back up lights are on in those two positions, but not in reverse. Can someone please explain how to fix this, in simple terms if possible and pics would be a great help if available. Thank you and please, if possible, keep it simple.

Your backup lights are controlled by the neutral safety switch that is mounted on the right side of your shifter. Are you having trouble starting it in either PARK or N? The switch is slotted and by loosening the two screws holding it on you can rotate the switch to the correct position.

Here's a link to the neutral switch adjustment on an automatic. Near the end of the first post I gave the wire layout and adjustment of the switch
