Will an original double snorkel with hood seal clear an HEI distributor conversion?

Yes. Mine did on my 74. It was a tight fit but I managed to squeeze it in there.I switched my original distributor for a mechanical tack drive HEI dizzy.I even used the distributor shield.

Is a '75 a functioning cowl induction cleaner?
That's what I was hoping to do too. Mine has an HEI but the previous owner got rid of the OEM cleaner for a Moroso cleaner. I want to go back to the OEM.

73 thru 75 were cowl induction. 73 & 74 were the same. HEI was introduced in 75 so the cleaner base was modified with a larger indent to clear the big head of the HEI distributor.

It was a crude dent . It appeared to be hammered by the factory then painted.
The 75 cleaners are expensive as all get out .
If your is to nice to beat the back in .....might buy a used 73-74 one in ruff shape , sandblast it and then tweak it , flatten a spot on the back .
