So I was asked to inspect a 69 (link below) for a prostective buyer. If it was for me looking at it, I have certain areas I look at to give me a good feeling to buy. Any suggestion where/what additional area to look in dept to determine if this is worth the asking prize.

Triple black convertible with sidepipes is definitely a desirable car, but that price tag for a 300HP car is scary. I'd make sure that the trim tag is real. I would check for any signs of a repaint. I'd recommend you know of all the specifics to verify an original sidepipe car.
The car is strongly geared to those who prefer originality. What is your prospective buyer's goal with the car?
If your buyer is seriously interested at that price, I would bring in a very knowledgeable '69 person. You can check out the local NCRS chapter: http://www.ncrsmac.org/
Hi n2v,
You might consider asking Tony Avedisian, (9888), from Tony's Corvette Shop to take a look at the 69.
I'm not sure just what he charges but his observations would certainly be reliable and well thought out.
Regards,
Alan

No disrespect, but if you have very litttle experience with these cars and honestly do not know what you would be looking at, you are not helping the prospective buyer.
Alan 71 is correct, Tony is an old friend of mine from ~20 years ago.....he inspected my old show car, had some reservations about the bird cage, but it turned out fine, frame was great....
My old Md. showcar/Florida driver is heading to Ca. to my son when I kick.....

None taken and thank you! My knowledge base on this Iconic cars you can measure with the tip of pin. I was going to look at per what kills these cars (Rust) and or course the "want to be Mech" who does silly stuff to get them on the road.
I've seen this car around, I believe it was done by a local restoration shop with good Rep for doing a wonderful job.
I wonder what type of restoration was done ???
did they find a tank sticker and take a pic of it ?
that would be nice to see and put to rest a lot of questions...
It is pristine by anyone standards....if i had money to burn I'd pay $39K
