Well.. spring is now in both pockets and I'm still 6 inches from being able to interface the upper ball joint. The spring compressor I rented from autozone simply does not compress the spring enough. Engine is not in the car so I can't just jack up the lower CA.

I'll go back to using my own threaded rod which is longer so I can compress the spring even more. What a PITA!!

third day and still struggling .. but ... getting closer.

Make sure spring is in proper rotation position.<br/>You do not have to take spindle and lower ball joint out .Push spring into it's lower A arm

Oush all thread rod down towards lower A arm when it get's to bottom ,push all thread toward lower A arm hole ,tap on top of all thread be careful not to damage threads on rod at lower end then put something large enough to keep all thread from coming through A arm hole

Double nut top and bottom of all thread and put a washer under top two nuts then draw spring up

Put lower ball joint on spindle first and draw spring up until you can get nut fully on top ball joint

Hope this helps this is my old stock spring same as yours make sure sway bar is un hooked
Good Luck

Hey folks...

Guess what!! .. I got my first spring in. Used my 5/8 -18 threaded rod (16 in long, autozone rod is only 8 3/4 in long) and one of the two claws from the autozone spring compressor such that the spring would swing towards the lower CA pocket. Loaded it up through the upper tower .. then when fully loaded raised up the lower CA and interfaced the balljoint nuts.

Thanks to all for your help. Much appreciated.

Got the other spring in as well.. Could not get the compressor claw unit out. My wife went into the garage and got it out.... humiliating but I'm very thankful.
