Default How far have you driven?

Hello everyone,

After Power Tour, and reading the 'Drive your Vette to work day' thread... I was wondering how far have you driven your C3 in a day?

We did the long haul on power tour this year and then drove straight thru from Baton Rouge, LA to home in Iowa. (17hours and approx. 1000 miles) and My work commute is about 70mi round trip.

So, what's the farthest everyone has done? Just interested to know

120 miles, from where I bought it (Atlantic IA) to home. Going to Kansas City with it here in a couple weeks, that'll be over 400 miles round trip.

850 miles from just north of Seattle to Napa. My wife and I have done this many times in August.

About 620 miles, from home to Daytona Beach, FL, then the return trip a week later. Have done it the past 2 years for the Rolex 24, already planning 2016.

My wife a has a friend that lives in KC... she goes to visit, I go for the BBQ! (have not taken the Vette there yet, though). Everyone's trips sound amazing as well!

Yeah and add in:

No A/C
No Radio
No cruise control
No overdrive

An while it was awesome to be blasting thru Missouri at 2am with the side pipes roaring at full tilt... my ears were still ringing two days later

I've had mine for almost 4 years. This August, it will be 4.

90-100 miles.

Furthest I have driven was from just south of Bakersfield to my house in the San Fernando Valley when I bought the car. Nothing broke. Surprisingly.

Drove it to Simi Valley once. Otherwise, around the neighborhood.

That's gonna change though. The car is getting more and more solid.

I took my 75 from San Jose to Orange County, CA to visit my daughters. 368 miles of thumbs up driving on Hiway 5 one way. And 368 miles back home 2 days later.

It was a great road trip.

Default How far have you driven?

The day I bought my 70 I drove it 580 miles from Albuquerque NM to Salt Lake City UT. I've been on several 200 mile trips since than but the first day is still the longest.

Drove my 69 from Midland Michigan to about an hour from Folsom, LA where it broke down about 30 hours after I picked it up. Alternator died & headlights killed the battery which then killed the engine. Must have been about 800-850 miles/24 hrs, took long breaks when filling up as I am big & the car is small. First time driving or riding in a C3.

In the early 80's I drove my '69 from Pittsburgh to Ft. Lauderdale and back for spring break.

Late 80's I drove it from Pittsburgh to Oklahoma City and back.

Only problem was the fan belt broke a couple days after getting to OK City. I had replaced that belt before I left on the trip and thrown the old one in the back compartment. Put the old one back on and it lasted for years.
