Hello to all, this comes from Australia. i imported a 1979 corvette earlier this year and am in the middle of getting this car roadworthy (to drive here in Aus) have just done all brakes, front and rear rotors/calipers new pads etc, radiator been done, new tyres, new/second hand rims(original rims sourced in Aus) also have replaced all bushes on car, am in the process of replacing rear body bushes and have discovered that bolts are rusted solid. So atm i am completely soaking these bolts in WD40 to loosen them up, so when i was looking to get axs to these bolts i discovered that my car has wiring for rear mounted speakers and also has a privacy screen fitted to the rear. So my question is,the privacy screen, is that a stock item? i have never hear anyone mention this before, and is the wiring for rear speakers standard or would this have been added by a previous owner? any case i am not worried as they were a surprise to me and a nice little discovery/bonus as i had intentions of fitting rear speakers i am busting to have a good/long drive in this car, took it for a quick run around the block a few times just to enjoy the car, now cannot wait till i can drive this car legally on the road
Bill.
...So my question is,the privacy screen, is that a stock item?...
If you're tallking about the pull out luggage cover for the rear storage area, it's stock. There's probably a blurb about it in your owner's manual.
...is the wiring for rear speakers standard or would this have been added by a previous owner?...
Not standard but possibly added by a PO. Might also be factory, since a factory dual rear speaker set up was optional. Do you have a pair of carpet covered color matching speaker grilles in the rear compartment?
