I really like it. But I saw where you wrote you're not going to put a lens on them?
Not for now.
Maybe later as an after-finished project, but would definitely be an afterthought to the original idea.
That could require casting clear epoxy, and from previous (failed) attempts I know I need to setup a vaccum station to get an usable result.

Denpo; what were you using that failed? I used casting resin from the art store to do some stuff and had good results. Maybe my parts were just smaller?
Your setup looks really good.

Thanks Brent.
When casting I used clear non thickened epoxy. That was when I was trying to make clear version of the aftermarket bubble lights.
Even with pouring the mix in a very thin ribbon and heating it up while curing, I couldn't prevent bubbles from forming. A lot of them.
I'm sure vacuuming after mixing and during curing should fix this.
Surely the shape isn't of the simplest.

We built a simple but effective vacuum chamber years ago out of a short section of thick wall PVC sewer pipe glued to a plexiglass base. We have a local store that sells casting resins & mold materials.... they sold me the pump, and gave me the idea for the chamber.
