I was looking at the lotus tail lights, they are very nice. But for the money, it might be better to design my own halo tail light pucks with solid works and cut them out of billet.
I am planning on making my own headlights, but use a C7 or Berlinetta for inspiration. If you use another cars headlight, I do not think it will ever match the fender curves properly.
I will cut out the fenders, glass in underneath, design and cnc cut a billet housing and attach leds, not too many haha, and an aftermarket projector, which will point down at the road properly, and make a mold for the plastic cover. Go around the outside edge with some countersunk hardware. Simple but stylish, but I hope will compliment the car in a way I will never achieve building something in the original headlight location. I think it will look badass!
[QUOTE=Denpo;1590041550]My take, with integrated aero feature
Wow those look awesome, really impressive work! Those are 3 different size halo rings? What are you going to do with the center hole? Are you going to make a cover lens?

Outer rings are red brake light (x4)
inner rings are red driving light (x4)
Middle rings (outer pair) : orange turn flasher (x2)
Middle rings (inner pair) : white backup light (x2)
Center hole is a venting hole, to relieve potential inner pressure, it will covered by a grill.
No cover lens, led ring have their own integrated cover.
Once glued I'll cover the while assembly with UV clear coat.
I'll currently still thinking about the best way to glue them watertight.

I do not like custom stuff on C3's. Call me a stiff
Plastic bumper C3's are excellent vehicles for modding. Consider it a better alternative to the junk yard! Imagine how much money is being injected into the many C3 parts companies, and how many jobs and parts manufacturers in the USA are being supported by people modding C3's. And why sir, do you seek out a custom tail light discussion thread to voice your disapproval? Start a "I don't like custom stuff" thread and get some feedback in the appropriate venue!
I really like the lights but I honestly think they will look 100 times better with lens caps. Also do you really want to use the tail lights as pressure vents? The C5 does not have any rear bumper venting up top and has a .08 drag coefficient! I think it forms a air cavity similar to a pick truck bed at high speeds.
How about dark red doughnut style lens caps with black center mesh or dark plastic center cap with back up LED lights behind the mesh or plastic in the center? I would think it best to seal them to avoid moisture etc?
A similar look to these custom Ferrari lights only with 3 halos and smaller center hole.
