Putting on the lower cover of my 1977 Corvette steering column cover, the cover has three screws. The top screw screws into a plastic anchor on the steering column. Do any of you know what that part would be or called, where I can find it, or how I can repair it? Seems like every time I screw part of that front dash back in, something breaks. *sigh*

Thanks for advice.

My plastic anchor on the steering column was also broken. I just used JB weld to fill it in, re-drilled the hole where needed. Cheap, easy and works great.
Looks like thats about the only option. I can't find that piece on any of the parts sites. I was wondering also if there was some sort of anchor you can buy that has a screw post, and zip ties on. Seems like there ought to be.

Not sure about the size difference (I don't have a '77), but a plastic anchor in a license plate mounting surface {ie, bumper, bracket, plate} might do the trick. Otherwise, the JBWeld stick putty epoxy would be the way to go.
The part number for that plastic grommet is 7805495. It is not service by General Motors but you never know if it could be found on line under that part number.
