Sweet! GM Crate motor? I see GM logos on the heads.
Not too many years ago, I went on a Corvette club tour of the Edelbrock facility here in Torrance. At the part of the factory where they had CCN machines machining cylinder heads, they were manufacturing aluminum Big Block heads with the GM logos on them. i think GM's original aluminum BB heads were made by Winters Foundry in Dayton, Ohio. The Winter's logo was a snow flake. Wonder if the repro ZL1 had the Winter's logo? I doubt that Edelbrock would be able to repro the heads with the Winter's logo.
If someone were to install a ZL1, I'd think they could cheat a little and build the engine as a 454, 496, etc if they'd make the engine internally balanced..there'd be no way to know it had extra cubes.
I'd think a C2 or C3 would be really great with an all aluminum BB!!!!
