Besides some sort of odd bragging rights the engine will do better with one carb over a tri power, that's been proven over and over in lots of unbiased tests,

While I would I believe enjoy an old school hipo 427 I wouldn't desire the loss and hassles of the tri power, include it's cost/value and forget it....

However, someone with less heart than I have would buy the whole package and sell off just the tri power and end up with profit.
Unless he is one of those cats who thinks it's all solid gold and he wants many times going rate.

So, the BB's got the Powerglide unit, just like for 1966-67.

THM-400 was a super success (in terms of customer satisfaction with the automatic tranny AND lower warranty costs. So, the 400 was across-the-board in '69 thru '74.

{Somebody correct me if that's not the way it went down.}
1967 was the last year for the powerglide in a Corvette. In 68 it was the THM-400 if it was an auto.

fine for '69, but OP stated it was a '68. no Auto with the L71/L89 in '68...

also yes it may run better/make more power with a single 4bbl than the tri-power, but that's not the point. It isn't the 60's anymore...tri-powers are valuable because they are cool...not because people race them down Woodward ave. to the local drive-in...

I think they are cool as well, just not $3K cool. It's too bad you can't see them with the filter on.

Guys, just a reminder... I've had to remove a few posts in this thread. This is not the "parts for sale" section, so please do not conduct sales in this thread, which was opened supposedly to ask for input on value.

Also, the OP does not own this part so he cannot soliicit interest in selling, or sell it here it either.

If you would like to have related conversations, please conduct them by PM. Thanks.
