Default 1968 mouse trap

I picked up a CE 68 engine for my car for a price too good to be true

Then I opened it up to look see what I got

Cleaned it up to see the damage, a little surface rust on the front push rods an lifters.

looks like more of a mouse nest than a mouse trap

Default Mice!

You can do a google search, think a mouse can get in a hole the size of a dime, LOL's!!! Cats, as in more than one, are the answer. Easy to set up a mutual "win-win" business agreement; you feed them cat food and they terrorize the vermin!

(found it, ha!)

Yep, about 15 years ago I found a mouse nest in my '82's air cleaner and it had 9 babies in it. And several years later I found a mouse nest in one of my kitchen drawers with 7 babies in it. The problem is always worse in the winter months when they are seeking a warm shelter with a food source.

Mine wasn't as bad as yours. Found a bunch of maple helicopters in one of my heads. On the side of the engine across from the valve cover that has an opening.

Been there. This is why every wiring harness needs to be replaced in my 68.

I'd say it's earlier than 68. Road draft equipment was gone by the mid 60s. Front mount is C1; Valve covers and carb are C1-C2 items. Nice find.

It's a 68 large journal 327 3933180 casting with 1966 461 heads a 1962 carter intake manifold, it came out of a 1960 and it was not original to the car.
