tire question
will 275/60R-15 fit or is 255's about the max one should go ?

I assume you're talking about putting them on a 68-82, and not the mid-year in your avatar?
The P255/60R15's are at the limit of what you can put on the front. A 275 would probably fit on the back.
A quick look at Tire Rack's website, shows that the BFG 275/60R15, while taller than the 255/60 (28" vs 27.1"), it's also slightly narrower. The 275/60 is listed with a tread width of 8.9", yet the 255/60 is shown to be 9.1".

I too saw Tire Racks website info which makes me question their tread width for the 275
