I know the coolant temperature sending unit is the one on the right bank of the engine (as you look from the front) what's the senor on the left bank called (I broke it and need to order a new one).

There isn't any sender or sensor on the passenger side unless one was used to supply power to an aftermarket electric fan or something else that needed a power source dependent on coolant temperature.

This sending unit has two blades and is on right bank, passenger side,
the temp sending unit has one blade on left bank driver side.
That is the transmission controlled spark thermal switch.

Just so you can keep with the way it is called by industry terms. You do not stand in front of the car...but rather sit in the car. So...the drivers side is the left side...the passenger side is the right. Hopefully you take this comment as helpful and not being a smart@ss.
DonnieP73 is correct 100% on this.
Despite contrary beliefs that there is NO switch....Obviously...there IS a switch that goes in the right cylinder head...imagine that.
Thanks guys, and for the pointer on getting my left and right bank sorted, much appreciated.
Its therefore the one on the right hand side, the one on the left has a single round spigot connector, the one on the right has two blades (this is the one I broke). I was not sure if both were temperature senders or they did different jobs. I saw the comment above and followed the link and its the thermal switch and available from Zip.
Sorry to waste every ones time on what seems a trivial point, but you have all been very helpful. I just wanted to save spending money on the wrong component as I order from the states to get it shipped to the UK.
The two switches ( one in each cylinder head) do different 'things'...and are not the same...obviously. The link to the switch with the two terminals is what you need.
