Acceleration problem with my 1978 Corvette

Hello,
I just inherited my dad's Corvette. Ascending hill is problematic, feels like the car is going to stall. Heat gauge continues to rise into warning zone. I have been filling radiator and reservoir with coolent weekly.

I am a newbie with regards to Corvettes and would like to learn more about how to keep mine in good shape.

It sounds like you might have a blown head gasket that needs replacing, Do you ever find coolant under where the car was parked?

Yes..coolant does leak ..a significant amount..
