Default your help needed PLEASE quick question

Hi there

quick question
i have a 69 350/300hp and have changed the carburettor to a Holly
but will still like to run the return line back to the tank,
i ordered a 1970 fuel pump and to achieve this, but its a bigger in the bowl
my Q: is will it be ok and will i have any clearance issues with suspension etc?

also the 69 fuel pump i have on at the moment is only 1 year old and i put a pressure gauge on it and it pushed 12psi on idle and dropped to 10psi when rev

thanks Lou

The '69's and '70's should be almost identical in that area so clearance shouldn't be a problem. As for the fuel line pressure - your Holley may not be happy with 12 psi. They usually are happy at half that. Too much pressure will force fuel through the needle valve and flood the engine.

Hope this helps.

Hi Lou,
I'm wondering if since the bowl is 'deeper' and the connections 'lower' you'll need to use the 'preformed' rubber gas lines to prevent the 'kink' that troubles slightly later cars with the deep bowl??
Using a straight piece of hose on the supply line puts too much curve in it and pinches off the gas supply.
Maybe?
Regards,
Alan

TRUE......(copied) "The street version regulates pressure from 1 to 4 PSI while the performance
version (engines used for racing) regulates pressure from 4-1/2 to 9 PSI. NOTE: These regulators are
designed to work with a single carburetor installation."

Like Alan71 mentioned , if you do need the pre-molded 'S' hose many vendors have them. I needed that for my 76 with a crate motor.
