I have the cables for top post battery. I noticed that it appears the AIM shows side mount cables. Sticking with originality which one is it.
Anybody, please help so I may continue my restore.

Vin 22,000 is the approximate switch from the top to side post batteries in 1969.

GM switched over to side post cables at the start of the 1970 model year production for all of their vehicle lines.
Because 69 Corvette (and Camaro) production continued basically unchanged until December of 69, battery cable usage was split on them. Cars built through June used the older spring ring cables, while cars built after that point, got side post batteries and cables.

Thanks to all the feedback. Just wanted to make sure I had the right cables since the positive cable needs to go in first before any insulation and would be a real bear to change out later.
Thanks

Anybody out there who has a picture of the positive battery cable and how sharp the bend is by the shifter area. This would be very helpful or can look at mine in my post to see if it is close.
Thanks in advance.

gb,
Didn't this effect the direction of the facing of the batteries? Terminals facing forward vs. top rear? IIRC???
Hi r,
Here are a couple of pictures of the 71 positive battery cable crossing from the left side of the underbody to the right on it's way forward to the starter. The pictures are looking forward toward the transmission with the driveshaft removed.
It's shown in the 71 AIM on UPC12 Sheet A10.
Regards,
Alan

Thank you Alan for taking the time to find those pictures. It makes things a little clearer.
