Anyone know where the pigtail from the back up light switch is supposed to connect? I'm fixing another previous owner electrical problem where Bubba removed the BU lite switch and cut the wires. Usually he would leave the wires hanging or leave a piece still visible, but I can not find anything to show where the wiring should go. My several diagrams show the wires going to "existing speedo clip". There is only 24 inches of wire on the new switch so it would seem logical it should plug into the wiring harness, which is close by and even has a factory wire holder that looks like it was for the BU wires. Wires are red and green; the new switch has a plug shown in the photo. RA
Ron I am not sure on what year or if it is auto if it makes a difference. I just replaced mine on a 4spd. there is a connection under the hood by the firewall. It should a pink and green wires with a plug on the end. Hope that helps

Here's a picture of it courtesy of JohnZ (sorry, I should have asked the year, also. This is a 67 in the picture)
Thanks to all for suggestions. Like a dummy I forgot to mention it is a 68 BB with 4 speed. Unfortunately there is no plug near the firewall (or anywhere else) or I would have been done by now. The PO was real good with wire cutters, so I figured he cut the wires and plug off. There are no hanging wires anywhere on the wiring harness. I checked from the bulkhead connector on the firewall back past the transmission. Also checked the wiring harness that goes to the front lights, just in case. There was one lumpy area on the harness, so I carefully removed the wrapping hoping to find some doubled up wires inside. No luck. I can hot wire the switch to a wire that gets hot when the key is on and run the wire back to the rear bumper, but was hoping to use the existing wiring going to the rear of the car. RA
