C3 with Torq Thrust D's on Them?
Hmmm... I really want a set of the D style wheels, but I'm not sure how to make this work and look good with the sizes they offer.

You can see how the wheels extended beyond the wheel well slightly. 15x8.5 with 3.75" backspacing was a common wheel size back then and guys liked the wide stance look. I suppose it improved handling slightly as well.

Nice looking vette...
What kind of power are you running in your engine? Auto or manual?
When you changed over to Wilwood D8 did you stay with the stock rotor size?
Did you see any need to go to large rotor?
That is where I am at in my mental debate.
My final setup will be 500+ hp 383 stroker, T56 trans and 4.11 rear.
In other threads about brakes comparing Wilwood vs a good GM stock setup, there is a mixed bag of opinions.
Some say the only improvement in braking will be with larger rotors.
The Wilwoods are a nice upgrade if the originals need to be replaced anyway.
Just wondering what you found in real world experience.
My project is at least a year away from being on the road.
I got the rims and tires as a Christmas present from my wife 2 yrs ago.
Rather than let them set (never been on the road), and if I go bigger on the rotors, I might just sell mine now to someone who wants a good deal.
Thanks for your feedback.

I'm probably running 350 HP if I'm lucky. Its just a .040 over 350, Comp Cams XE262, stock cast iron high compression heads with a Muncie M20. But my car is pretty light and I'm more focused on having a nimble responsive car than a rocket so I'm happy with it. Probably go to AFR 180 heads at some point in the future though.
Pretty much depends on your driving style whether larger rotors are necessary. I stayed with the stock size. The Wilwood D8s have made a noticeable improvement but some of that could be attributed to the braided brake lines and pad lining material. You also have the benefit of less unsprung weight, stainless open ended pistons with less heat transfer, no more leaking lip seals, etc. I have manual brakes and feel no need for power. But it just depends how far you want to go.
OK, now back to TT Ds. If you are buying used wheels you need to be aware that the TT Ds manufactured between 1988 and 2003 don't have the relief for disc brake calipers so won't work on a Vette. That's why a lot of people say they won't work without spacer. But all manufactured since 2003 fit just fine.

I have a new set of the TT Ds and mine do clear the stock calipers no problem.
Like I said my mental debate is whether to go to larger rotors and that will require going to a 16, 17 or 18" version of the Torq Thrusts.
Its a constant battle isn't it?
The TTO's look AWESOME on your C3! I assume These are the latest TTO's (VN309) with 3.8 Inch Backspace, and -24mm Offset. Did you have to use wheels spacers with the straight spoke of the TTO, or did they clear the brake calipers in the back? I absolutely love those wheels...
