Door handle no longer opens door but spring still working does any one know where I can get a diagram of door latch with connecting rods
I had the same problem. The spring that returns the small bell crank under the door release handle was rusted and broken. I purchased a new outside handle ***'y with push rod included. That was an easy repair after you get inside the door.

First of all, welcome to the Forum. I think you'll find it to be one of the most helpful places to turn to for answers to almost any question you have regarding Corvettes. Be patient and provide as much information as you can about the car you asking about and it will help you get more relevant responses. Pictures when appropriate are always useful in helping to explain what you're inquiring about and again help us provide more useful info.
Regarding the door handle; what year Corvette are you dealing with, interior door handle or exterior door handle?
One of the best pictures of the door latch ever posted here for the C3 is this one...
It's a view of the latch assembly you'll typically only see after removing it from inside the door and can be helpful if you ever do need to remove it. (The red arrow was inserted to illustrate the lever that you can place the blade of a long handle screwdriver on from directly above and with a sharp rap, open the latch when all else fails.)
Regarding the door latch... in many of these older Corvettes the original latch has never been out of the door and the original grease has become gummy and attracted lots of dust and dirt making them more and more difficult to operate over time. This is particularly so with power locks. Often the best solution to many latch issues is to remove the latch assembly from the door and clean it thoroughly with solvent. Dry it good and then re-lube it with just enough white-lithium grease and reinstall.
