looking for l88 hood
Let me start by saying I believe in you get what you pay for with that said I been looking at different websites at hoods some are in the $500 range and in $700 range I don't mind paying more if fit better that means less work I have to do but where do you guys think has a good product. I don't know if it matters but I have a 77 vette I would appreciate the input

I have read where several people have purchased from Ecklers and had nothing but good things to say.

I've posted this before, but anyhow...once again.
In the early 1970's, I had a 1969 BB Coupe. I bought a L88 hood from GM parts, they were still available as a GM part. It didn't fit very well. I had to take it to a body shop to get an acceptable fit. I then had a left over stock 69 BB hood....I decided to mount it to my 68 SB car a la LT1. The stock 69 BB hood did not fit very well at all with my 68 SB car, so I went back to the stock SB hood. When I had major body and paint work done on my 68, many (all?) stock body panels didn't fit very well..including the stock 68 SB hood..they came from the factory that way! I had to pay a lot of money to get my stock 68 hood to fit nicely onto my stock 68 body..basically to get a fit that the factory did not achieve in 1968.
My experience leads me to believe that if you buy an aftermarket hood, there's a good possibility it won't fit that well. My very limited experience is that stock hoods do not interchange that well with stock cars...so an aftermarket hood may have more of a fit problem. But as for the "fit' situation, I guess it depends upon how picky you are.

Corvettes were rough cars from the factory, made to be driven and raced not show cars. Expect to do work on ANY hood you buy.
