Hello,
quick ?
Anybody found the right color spray paint for the hood prop?
I have a '68 hood prop that needs refreshing.
It looks to have had a natural finish similar to the finish on the altenator.
Thanks in advance,
Marshal
I used Krylon dull aluminum 10 years ago on mine and it was a damn close match. Not sure if its still available as I know Krylon has changed their paint formulas
Thanks C34Me
I'll look for a dull aluminum.
I want it close so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
I'm trying to keep the car accurate w/o overdoing it.
It won't see judging.

Hi Marshal,
I'd take a look at the EASTWOOD specialty paints,
Maybe the cad or zinc.
I know someone who had paint on his hood prop for a while and was bothered by the fact that there was some paint scraped off when the prop 'telescoped'.
Certainly worth a try though.
Regards,
Alan
Paint (A person could do a bit better by not painting the rivets and the clip.)
The 'scrape'
Plating Notice in this pic the hinge has been 'blacked out' and has some body color overspray on it too.
