Voltage regulator smoking

I'm going through the wiring on my '68 (well, parts of it are a '68 at least...) while the front clip is off. I hooked everything back up to start chasing and terminating gremlins. I noticed, though, that when the key is on the voltage regulator starts smoking. I don't think that's supposed to happen...

So is it the regulator or could I have missed re-attaching a wire somewhere?
