Default wire routing question

1969 corvette L46

I am installing the harness to my headlamps. I'm not sure how to rout the wires leading to the headlamps..

Do they snake through over the headlamp actuator? Or do the rout to the side of the actuator assembly?

Does anyone have a photo?

Thanks.

The AIM shows the routing. The forward lamp harness passes through the radiator support, grounds on the top left of the support, then routes across from left to right.

The harness is attached to the header bar and the wires drop down as shown below.l

Aims (on cd) are free this week with any order over 100.00.

Thank you very much...very helpful

My specific question is .. Does the portion of the harness that connects to the headlights run through the headlamp actuator housing (ie over the actuator itself) or is it routed to the side of the housing?

Thanks

Hi b,
Here are a few pics from my 71.
Perhaps they'll help along with what Willcox posted.
Regards,
Alan

Here's the harness running along the headlight support. It's clipped to it in several places as the AIM shows.

You can see part of the harness turning down for the right side headlights and part continuing on for the parking and side marker connections.

Here you can see the typical connection for each headlight and the headlight warning switch.

Thank you Alan... very nice... Can you tell me if the harness portion which is attached to the headlights runs through the actuator housing or outside and around.. It's a little difficult for me to tell.

Hi,
I'm sorry but I'm not quite sure what you're asking.
The wires for the left side lights leave the harness before the harness passes over the canister and on the right side after it passes over the canister.
You can see the arrow pointing the right side harness.
Regards,
Alan

Alan .. I really appreciate all of the help that you have given me in the past.

I'm probably not making myself clear with my question.

Here's what I am after... I want to know the precise path the wiring takes after it leaves the harness and goes to the headlights.. Does it go internally through the actuator housing or does go around the housing? Probably doesn't make sense to go through the housing.

.

Thanks again

I believe it goes around.... I don`t think there`s a hole for the wiring to go internally, AND it would be in the way of the actuator rods & springs, wouldn`t it?
This picture would seem to indicat it going around the canister...

Hi b,
It travels down right next to the outer side of the canister on both the left and right lights…. through the housing not to the side of it.
I believe you can tell that from the way the end of the harness enters the picture from the top.
Whew!
Regards,
Alan
