mysterious connector

mysterious connector

1969 Corvette L46 ..with AC

This connector has 2 wires going to it.. one pink(red?) and one green

it comes from the driver's side firewall out of the 4 hole grommet.

Can someone tell me what this connector connects to??

Hi b,
I believe you'll find that connector is for the back-up lights.
The switch on the transmission has a long tail on it that reaches up along the transmission tunnel and firewall until it joins that connector.
