I have a Tremec TKO 500 that was purchased from Keisler. Never liked the 2-3 shift and when others drove the car they often missed that shift. Also over 6000rpm the trans would not shift. Now do to the engine getting some upgrades I don't think the tranny will hold up the torque increase.
My question is to those that have the TKO 600 'how do you like the trans and how is the 2-3 shift?' T
I have a Tremec 600 in my 66. I know from experience that there is a break in period of about 500 plus miles to get shifting smoothly. If you have many miles on the tranny, consider changing out the fluid. Are you using ATF? Jerry
The 2-3 shift and over 6000 rpm problems are well known and common. The fix is to change the synchro blocker rings. I have yet to do this to my TKO600, but a friend did it to his 600, and the difference is incredible! I had doubts about this fix until I drove his car after the fix.

I have the carbon blocker ring on my Silver Sport Transmission TKO600 and have no issue shifting at 6k+ RPM on the track. I am not power shifting and don't try to force it from 2 to 3 but have never missed a shift or had any real issue getting it into gear.

Get hold of Silver Sport. I bought my trans from Keisler yet these guys were extremely helpful. Even to the point where, when I installed my Dakota Digital gauges, they sent the adapter I needed at no cost.
I have TKO600 with hurst shifter and no problems with the 2-3 shift.
But I rev my 502 usually only up to 5500.
What I more often had was problems with downshifting from 5 to 4 or from 5 to 3.
Just when you want to overtake another car, you are already on the other side of the road and the gear does not want to go in...arrr.
