Wheel spinner flew of when I crossed some railroad tracks.
I managed to find it.
What is the right way to re attach it so it doesn't fly off again?
I caused a little bit of paint damage to the fender edge.....
There appears to be allen head set screws on the cap...
However it must be installed after the wheel is ion because otherwise it blocks on or more of there lug nuts from being tightened.
only way I can see it working is if I back out the set screws a bit and pound it back on??
they pressure screw into the inner wheel hole but almost never run true and will always loosen.in addition they mar the wheel.mine are in a box for anyone that may want them and will never go back on my car.
I lost one a few years ago on an intersection. I pulled over to retrieve it and I watched another car swerve and I thought he did it to run it over. Needless to say he ruined it. Picked it up and went on my way. Down the road was the same driver changing a flat tire. Sometimes there is justice. I replaced it and check tightness when I wash the car, seem to stay tight.
Those are too heavy to stay on and they are just aftermarket anyway. There are other cheap aftermarket plastic spinner caps that will give you good service and look great if you don't use the car in bad weather or particularly in salt conditions . I saw a set that I liked on another guys car and he was telling me that they were plastic . I would have never known . I now have a plastic set on my car that I bought on ebay and I love them. I've used them on several of my cars and it's easier than trying to find good originals and a lot cheaper.
I have 3 of those laying around...
I would think running them is a lawsuit just waiting to happen....
What , the steel ones or the plastic because I've seen the steel ones fly off , but not the plastic ? The steel ones are so heavy that they will fly off when you hit a pothole which we have no shortage here but the plastic are light and fit tight so I have never had one or seen one fly off.

Crappy flash chromed import metal ones....I just tossed them in the fury road bin for later art projects,
I do not care at all for that set screw mounting.
