Default 1970 seat foam

Haven't been on this site for awhile, but been a member for years. I am trying to buy seat foam for my 1970. I know several corvette suppliers have them, but I was wondering if they are all using the same foam or not. I have tried to contact Wilcox as I have bought from them before, but the phone just rings. Maybe they are not open on Saturday. Is one better than another? Any help appreciated.

Hi vk,
There are only a couple of producers of new seat foam.
You might want to continue to try to reach Willcox and see who's foam they're selling and at what price.
People speak highly about the foam and covers from Al Knock.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Since Willcox is a 'real' company it doesn't surprise me that you can't reach someone in person on a Saturday afternoon.

If I can through my $.02 in.
Make sure your covers and foam are made at the same source.

I believe most of the vendors get their foam and covers from the same supplier. The good news is I've never read or heard of any complaints so whoever you decide to buy from shouldn't differ much, if at all, between other vendors in terms of overall quality.
For example, I purchased the foam and leather covers from Zip and I think the boxes that the foam was packaged in had corvette america on it.

The problem I ran into was CA covers and AK foams didn't work out so good.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I went ahead and ordered the foam from Willcox on line. They had a weekend sale and I got 15% off. I have found a gentleman who is going to custom make my covers. He comes highly recommended and I have seen his work. I also decided to go with leather instead of vinyl even though my car is completely stock. I feel like they can be redone at a later date if someone wants to have it purely as it came from the factory. Maybe I should take this time to reintroduce myself. I am the original owner of my 1970 corvette. It has 39000 original miles and I show it as often as I can during the summer months here in IL. I also have a 1972 Chevy Nova that I bought a couple of years ago. I have been a car guy all my life and really enjoy showing my cars and talking to other car buffs. Thanks again for all your help and I will try to be on here a little more often. I do remember you Alan from before and I see that we joined about the same time.
