Second, I really don't appreciate assumptions about what I think or my experiences clouded in terms like how someone "knows" I haven't done a restoration. I've actually been involved in a few. And I enjoy them.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. --Stroh[/QUOTE]

Stroll,
You made a statement that a "proper resto" is between $10-20k.
That to me is ridiculous on a car of this shape.
If you truly have done a resto in any meaningful way for that price I would have a hard time believing it.

When dealing with people in a forum, everything is based on "assumptions". If you don't appreciate it, well, too bad. I don't know your experience, I can only "assume" by what you say in your posts. Grow a thicker skin. Anyone with any experience would say the same thing.

A 10-20 grand resto is not realistic and smacks of someone who simply does not know. Anyone that knows will double that price. What kind of restos have you done? This lt1 would be a full all out resto

Show me a 10-20k resto with this type car as a starting point done in the last 5 years. Who knows, maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about. I have no problem admitting when I make a mistake.

If it can be done then I'll be happy to send over one of my cars and save myself the time and trouble. I'll also apologize for my incorrect "assumption"

Happy holidays

PS. I also want to add that I was not trying to offend you if I did. I was just trying to maybe prevent you from wasting your money and having you find yourself upside down on a car or worse just frustrated at the costs. I didn't mean to suggest you haven't done a resto. I should have been more clear to say I find it hard to believe you have done one for yourself incurring all the costs.

I have helped with numerous restos on friends cars. I have never done a full on one for myself until this past year on my 69 which is in far better shape then the one you shown. The costs are large if you want the car done right. I can't do paint or any engine/trans rebuilding and the costs are going to be well over 30k when done. Everything else is being done by me such as removing parts, powder coating then reinstall.

I hope you find a better starting point.
