seat belts

I have a 76 vette. Both my seatbelts are stuck and will not extend any ideas?

not totally familiar with 76 but have you tried removing the retractor and removing the plastic cover to manually move the locking mechanism?

YES...if you are referring to the retractors that are located UNDER your seats....you will need to remove your seats and inspect them. There is a HIGH probability that they are rusted and shot and needing to be replaced.

If you do that...BE CAREFUL....and not just jump in with tools and begin breaking bolts off....because that can cause a normally 'touchy' repair...turn into a ROYAL PAIN. Speaking from experience.

Use the rear seat belts from a 4th gen Camaro or Firebird. They work very well and are easy to install.

Be careful of overspray with penetrating oil. Nylon and some oils don't mix well.
