Default Headlamp vacuum switch hose connector for 72

I have a vacuum leak at the 90 degree rubber connector that connects the vacuum hoses to the under steering column by-pass switch. It appears that the fitting is tired and not sealing. This is the fitting that slips on and off the by-pass switch.

Does anyone know where I might find a replacement? Or another possible solution? I have searched Ecklers, DocRebuild, etc., to no avail.

Thank you.

I'm not near my car right now, so I can't see what a 70 looks like, but is it possible to connect the hoses directly to the override switch?

Hi M,
You can hook the 2 hoses directly together which will make the headlight system act normally except that there'll be no 'override switch' function.
When you find the rubber connector (if that's the problem) you can go back to the 'override' function.
Regards,
Alan

I didn't have any luck finding it either, and it doesn't look like its pictured in the vacuum hose kit. I would try giving whichever part vendor you prefer a call and see if they have it

Good luck!

Or another possible solution?
I got rid of those leakers quite a while ago in both my cars. The upstream side of each vacuum hose when pulled out of the 90 degree has a short metal connector pushed into it. Grab it with a pair of needle nose and pull them out. You then can connect it to the override switch like any other vacuum component.

This is what the switch looks like, you can plug the hoses directly onto the fittings without the elbow.

I tossed my leaking 90 degree elbows in the trash and plugged the vacuum lines directly to the override switch.
