OK while I got people going, my Dad got the front clip for this Vette from Sargent Hack in the Akron, Ohio area. Sgt. Hack was a at least locally famous guy that recruited for the Army using non-traditional vehicles with patriotic paint jobs, and it seemed to work fairly well. Afterwards he raced cars, particularly Vettes. Dad got a '68 clip him for $250 and it came with part of the flag paint job still on it. While my brother-in-law had the car, he stripped most of that off. Does anybody out have info or especially any pictures of Sargent Hack and one of his "famous racing Vettes"? It would be neat to have a picture for my collection. I figured if anybody did it would be somebody here on the forum. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi AT,
Is this one of them?…. lot's more pictures of his Jeep than of a Corvette.
Regards,
Alan
Alan,
Yes that is one of them! Obviously not the one Dad got the front clip off of lol! Yes his Jeep was very well known. I understood he had a number of Vettes. I think he ran a lot in Canfield? at Quaker? dragstrip -1/4 mile. Thanks for the picture and footwork! Maybe some others - especially the more "senior guys" may have something somewhere.
