Portable hoist
Hi All,
I have a portable hoist. It is great for cleaning and brake work but I have never been game to put my 1974 Corvette Convertible on it. I am worried about body flex. Has anybody used this kind of hoist with a convertible Vette? Sorry the photo is a bit out of focus

I use a Quickjack. As long as you can use the frame to lift the car your good.

That's a cool little hoist! Where did you get it? What have you lifted with it?

I bought from a company called Radum but that is not going to be much help to you because I am in Australia.
I have lifted full size sedans on it, but mostly a Mercury Capri.

There are lots of guys here that use those. If your on the frame you're fine, thats how the mechanic shops would lift it. Im getting a quick jack when I can afford it. It lifts the frame but leaves the center clear.

Is the quickjack low enough than you can leave it stored under a standard C3 when not in use and still drive in and out?

Yes, that is were I keep mine. They have handles that you use to pull it out to match the frame.
I do have to remove the big rubber block though.
