Ive got a 76 with 80 doors on it. It has the 80 style flat door panels and I want to change the interior panels over to the 76 style.
In doing so it will mean to change the interior door handles and associated linkages to the 68-77 style.
I have all the parts I believe to do this and was just looking to see if anyone else has done this. I have looked in the FAQ section and searched the web but cant find any information. Surely I cant be the pioneer to this swap.
Hi j,
Are the inner door frame the same from 68-82 or did it change slightly in 78? I'm not sure.
Here's a picture showing the hardware installed on a 71 door.
Perhaps it'll be some help to you.
Regards,
Alan
There are a couple of raised mounts that will have to be cut off .Location of these indicated with blue tape in the pic. You will also have to drill hole(s) for the earlier door pull. This is a 79 door that's on my 76
As they say a picture is worth a thousand words
Thank you both the information will be helpful. Was the rest of the installation pretty much straight forward?? My Vette is still wearing the 80 style door panels I know they are supposed to give you more interior room but I prefer the original ones.
