Here's a MicroMachines '68 white convertible on e bay..Pretty nice detail for a little die cast model..but not so spendy the gal couldn't play with it..
You can paint the car together with the hood accents like yours for the little gal..Jim
Thanks.. I might buy it.. However, I'm worried that she will destroy it if I give it to her.. Maybe I'll buy it and give it to her for her 4th birthday.. Maybe she'll be less destructive by then..

Think the convertible top comes off this one but ask the question..

OR this one a Johnny Lightning that's yellow and could be a total paint job..This one has no convertible top..and interior is also the black color..Jim
The Johnny Lightning model is a better detailed 1968 Corvette convertible and at the price..Buy it and paint it well with 3 coats of acrylic clear overall and let her play with it..
As a lad, I painted all my small trucks and cars many times and we played with them in the dirt under the porch for many hours..
Get her to help you( supervise) the small repainting and racing stripe- band on the yellow car..Have her tell you what needs painted, have her watch you mask the tires and bumpers and interior-windshield and tell you which brush to use..That's how kids learn..
Ya never know..she may end up helping you get your '68 detailed sooner than you think..
Sure beats the 'all thumbs' toys so many kids use these days..Jim
Thanks I did not know that. Learn something new everyday.
68 had lots of 1 year only features:
Ignition on dash
No map pocket
4 tail/brake lights (instead of having the backup lights on the inside)
Push button door
'68 door panels are unique too
back up lights were separate lights below the rear bumpers
smooth center gauge bezel (as opposed to textured on 69 and later)
7 inch wide wheels (8 inch in 69 and later)
No Stingray name on front fenders.

Thanks! I'm going to look around. Those models seem fairly small. I think that a little bigger one would be nice.. I do have a black '69 convertible model in that size.. I could as well just paint that '69 model in white and add the strips.
