Default Help identifying brackets

I found these two brackets in a box of parts that came with my 68 convertible. I cleaned them up looking for any part numbers or other marks and found "Made in Canada" on one of them. They were painted black and had quite a bit of dirt and old grease on them. I've looked in the AIM, but haven't been able to find them. Can someone tell me what they are and where they go? Thanks in advance.

Check 1968 AIM UPC 6 B6, (mine is a Corvette America version and printed as page H191) each side is different which I think is strange. Yours look like the driver side to me.

you can also check a vendor catalog

Hope this helps.

They are bolted to the back of the engine block and hold rubber blocks, with four holes, to secure spark plug wires. Part of the plug wire shielding. The rubber blocks are split to allow the wires in then you slide the blocks into the brackets. The bolt holes, in the block, are 1/4" and there are non threaded holes adjacent that the tangs on the brackets fit in. In the '77 AIM this is found in section 6. The bracket with the threaded bolt hole is the drivers side. mike...

My 82 has those in the back of the block. There are rubber grommets that slide into the grooves and holds the plug wires in place.

I found the info in the AIM. Thanks to 20mercury and everyone else who responded. Evidently, they are for a small block. Odd that I have them since my car is a big block.
