A real bargain?

$7 grand? Yeesh. There's a lot better deals out there locally than than pile of junk, that's for certain:

The largest one around is up in Canton but it only goes from March-October:

The car isn't without its issues.
It was whacked in the front passenger side pretty hard at some point and there are some other little frame issues. Not bad enough to keep me from driving it, but bad enough for me to have purchased a replacement frame, which is hung in my garage as the next "big" project. I have personally put 6,000 miles on the car between the summers of '12, 14, and 15. Engine was out in '13.
I have a little birdcage action going on, but the #2 body mount is still factory green, so it isn't HORRIBLE. Just another future project.
The engine was tired (60# valve spring pressure), but it turned out to be an awesome 4-bolt all-forged LT-1 engine with only about 10k miles on the clock. It was a really wonderful starting point for the engine I turned it into...a 450+ hp solid-roller monster 350.
And lets also set aside the non-functional HVAC, wipers, and wiper door.
But hey...you DON'T purchase a $7k car expecting it to be perfect. I have a HUGE smile on my face every time I turn a wrench on the thing. And my 10 year old son loves it too. He did (almost) all the wrench turning on my recent leaky caliper replacement.
To the point, though, if I run across another really good deal (it does happen now and again), I will be sure to turn forum members on to it.
