The one I got from Ecklers has hard rubber glued all around in the brake handle sleeve, narrowing it to a small sleeve in the middle. That makes it very tight, and would move with the brake handle? I was just going to return it until I found out the return postage.
I maybe over thinking, having a brain fart... How does your brake handle operate with this kind of wooden cup holder?
You pull up the cup holder and brake handle together and spill your drinks.

I don't use the emergency brake anyway but if you did need it in a hurry you can still pull the whole handle up as long as you don't have a drink in it . You shouldn't be using it while you are driving anyway. I just use it if I stop for a quick cup of coffee or cold drink.
Works pretty well, but I had to cut/modify the console support and cover. Nothing that can't be undone (with a new cover and a little welding) but since my car is far from original, it's not a problem
Richard, that slim-line holder is pretty cool... you find all the best stuff
Not sure where i picked this holder at but i works great.
I have one of these and I love it. Havent tried taking corners at high speed with something sitting there, but it's stable enough for puttering around town. It attaches using the two screws that hold the front of the park brake console on, so you're not drilling any new holes. In my opinion it's better than the ones that slide over the park brake handle too since you can still use the cup holder even if you need to set the park brake. Paid about $35 from Ecklers sometime last year.

I had the one that slipped over the parking brake and hated it and now have one of these. The problem with it tho, was with the insert in, it was to small for a water or soda bottle. With the insert out, it was too big and too low to hold them so they fell out every time you make a turn. HOWEVER, a section of 2" pvc pipe painted semi gloss black matches perfect and slips inside and holds the drinks well. I made them long enough to be 2" over the top of the mounted holder to keep the drinks secure and not interfere with the shiftet. Sorry, no pic.
Here's some pictures, one in each car. Try it, If you don't like it, you're only out 6 bucks and you can use it somewhere else. It doesn't interfere with either the parking brake or the shifter. Just slide between seat and console. Rest on seat and very stable

Hi,
Been looking at few cup holders, saw this one looks ok. Have an 1981 hopefully works. Where did you get the emblem in the middle of the holder ?
