Default My C3 was ordered today...

the day after Christmas, and built Jan 20th, 1969.

Always seemed a bit odd to me someone would order a new Vette the day after..perhaps they got tired of getting yet another necktie?

If not for a customer, was it customary for dealers back then to order vehicles for stock right after a holiday?

Hi 69,
I believe the "Date Received" was the date the Corvette Order was received by the Chevrolet Central Office in Detroit.
I'd think that typically the customer or dealer would have written the order for the car a few days before that.
So maybe a few days before Christmas for your car?
Regards,
Alan

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I have the NCRS shipping report, but it lists only actual build date and delivering dealer. The 'date received' being prior to the holiday makes more sense now, in terms of actual build lead time with car being completed Jan 20th..

c3_dk, not sure what you mean by door sign?

Sorry some Danish/English here, I mean the door production/trim plate, with the build date, in the left door pillar.

Sorry for my bad English......
